Paceville after dark: where to start

Paceville is the nightlife district of St Julian's, on Malta's north-east coast. It's where most of the country's clubs, rooftops and live venues are packed together — most of the nights listed on this site happen there or a few minutes away.

What exactly is Paceville?

A compact St Julian's neighbourhood, essentially walkable at night, with a high density of clubs, bars and rooftops packed into a few streets. You'll find both classic club floors and towers like the Portomaso Tower, home to several venues up top with views over the bay.

It's the natural starting point for a first night out in Malta: everything is within walking distance, and most organisers (including transport to Gianpula Village, for example) use Paceville or neighbouring Pendergardens as the pickup point.

The types of nights you'll find

Classic club: Toy Room Malta runs a different theme every night of the week (Glow on Wednesdays, Circus on Fridays, Wild West on Saturdays...), with a shared thread throughout — dancefloor, performers, resident DJs.

Upscale rooftop: TwentyTwo, at the top of the Portomaso Tower, goes for an elegant dress code and a 360° view over the island — a different, dressier format than street-level clubs.

DJ/rap showcase: Tigullio occasionally hosts artists in an intimate club setting (Gradur, TK and others depending on the season).

Daytime rooftop pool that rolls into the night: VITA Hotel & Rooftop runs a pool-plus-DJ format in the late afternoon that naturally shifts into a night-out mood.

Hours worth knowing

Most Paceville clubs open their doors around 11pm — always check the exact time listed on the official ticketing page for the specific night, including last entry where it's stated, it varies from one event to another.

Nights held at Gianpula Village (just outside Paceville, in Rabat) almost always include return transport from Pendergardens or the Paceville bus terminus, usually between 10pm and 11pm.
